Haergrim whirled away from the sword that cut his arm, brought his sword up, and decapitated one guard while stabbing the other in his visor, dropping both opponents. He turned to face the remaining bodyguard, but he realized he wouldn’t reach him in time. "Pana!" he yelled as the last bodyguard lunged toward the disarmed Pana.
Pana stood transfixed as death charged at her, sword raised high. She could see the bodyguard's eyes twinkling through his visor, his teeth shown in a victorious grin. His sword glinted as it lunged at the middle of her chest. The tip penetrated her jacket right at the heart, a certain killing blow. Suddenly, a loud TINK rang out, and sparks flew from the wound. The bodyguard's face changed from elation to confusion in a flash. Pana fell backwards from the impact, and landed on her back just short of the double doors.
